MINING BETWEEN THE INERTIA OR MOTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

“Do not waste a second of time, it is your most valuable asset.”

In physics it is said that a system has more inertia when it is more difficult to achieve a change in the original state, or in other words, is the inability of the systems to modify by themselves the state of rest or movement in which they find themselves. .

Our Mining has had a relative inertia in recent years, losing growth opportunities in expansions of copper, gold, silver production, increased portfolio of metals such as iron, Mo, Manganese, cobalt etc. and non-metallic, such as Lithium Bórax, carbonates, potassium, among others because they do not have a second ENAMI that can process and produce other minerals that they do not do today, and promote other elements that contribute to GDP growth. There is also inertia in not counting with a state policy that fosters geological exploration going back to the roots of the 60s where a successful program of national exploration, united nations program / UNDP, managed to recognize and explore the current deposits such as Pelambres, Zaldívar, Sierra Gorda Escondida etc. That after 40 to 50 years they have managed to position Chile as the world copper champion.
